Junyan Zhu is a Research Associate in the Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Sheffield, UK. Her field of research includes political communication, political behaviour, and quantitative methodology, with an emphasis on social media and misinformation in the American and British contexts. Her doctoral thesis assesses the Internet’s impact on civic engagement and explores how social media influences citizenship by shaping effective political participation and social capital. In Sheffield, Junyan’s current work focuses on a Leverhulme funded political advertising project.
